This video was an attempt to capture both the essence of the game being played, and establish the joy in taking breaks. I wanted to use a combination of wide shots, medium shots, and close ups to focus on the game being played and teams, etc. My main idea was to introduce the game from a close up on the net, out to a wide of all the characters in the scene. I think that part worked out very well, because as I came up to the wide the team on my side scored, so I was able to capture a 'mini' celebration with them. Equally good was the same effect on the other side, wit the other team a minute or so later.
Visually there were several aspects I enjoyed, and some that didn't work as well as I had planned. The intro looks really good, the framing all comes in nicely, with some good sun flares and composition. The characterization was also fun, since my roommates had been playing for a good ten minutes and were forgetting about the odd camera man following them around. Things that didn't work out too well were the ball getting bounced far away from the shot. This took time for them to get back, without much interesting footage back at the base since we were all standing around waiting. Also, the timing was hard since they cut it short just after 2 min, assuming they'd played enough. All is well, and I'm happy with hoe it worked out.
